I love that we have a coffee bar at our Church, it seemed strange to me at first…..way back but now it is so normal and it’s a wonderful place for people to gather before and after church and in-between our 2 services. Our Pastor’s wife is one in charge and she is so gifted in this area, it has been wonderful to see her grow and the whole ministry to change in the last several months since she took over.

I decided to volunteer to help in the coffee bar last summer, I love coffee and I was excited to learn the ins and outs of making espresso, Italian sodas, snickers, and mochas etc etc. (and maybe someday I will have a coffee shop of my own in some exotic location!) After a couple months I was asked to run it once a month to give our Pastor’s wife a break! (Which we all need from time to time) When I do the coffee bar it’s usually a family affair… my son helping make the drinks and my husband taking orders and money and our little one darting in and out from behind the coffee bar until it’s time for Sunday School.

It has been good for my son as it will get him to church without too much groaning and he really seems to enjoy helping me make the drinks and such. It’s funny when the change happens from …..”honey, can you help me today??” to…..”mom, are we doing the coffee bar today?” I thought to myself, this is brilliant, he likes it……I need to capitalize on this!!! I give him more responsibility each time, he is getting to be quite the barista if I do say so myself and he actually LIKES doing it which is so wonderful, there isn’t a screen of any kind in front of his face and no controller and he is interacting with people and being helpful and I LOVE IT!!! and did I mention he LIKES doing it…….Wahey!!!!!!!!!

These are moments when I am thankful God is in the little things in our lives like coffee and that he hears my prayers about my son……and that is just so awesome!

Well I am off for a cup of coffee
