Mom, Daughter and Sasha SledgingIt’s January….ok, I know you know that…and it’s winter for most of us.  I don’t know about you but I hate being cold and I am not big on winter sports etc.  So, that being said I have been hoping and praying for all the snow on the ground (and we have had a lot) to melt and be done already! Well, I got my wish, a couple of days ago the temperature went up and the melting began.  Did I mention we have a dog….well, we do.  We got her right before Thanksgiving, she is wonderful and I now cannot use the excuse of cold weather and snow not to go for walks as she is big and we live in town…..so walk I must.... read more...

Ok, one huge thing I have noticed since being at home is time just seems to fly by (maybe it’s the old adage “time flies when you’re having fun??) I should really have more time on my hands since I am not going out to work everyday for 30 or 40 hours per week but that just doesn’t seem to be the case.  I am a very routine person as a rule and I like to have time to do certain things but many days it’s like lunch time before I know it and then it’s nearly 4:00 and time for my hubby to come home and I haven’t gotten even half of my agenda for the day accomplished.... read more...

Happy New Year to all……so,  when I think of the new year I think like many of new beginnings, my mental calendar jumps from the bottom of the “page” to the top of a brand new “page” and mentally allows me to begin all things new!  I love it!!  I am not a big fan of resolutions though, might be because I find them hard to keep and then feel a dreaded failure when I blow it!  What I do though is sort of set goals, think of the things I’d like to accomplish and make myself a mental list….yes, I know I should probably write them down but that would make them more of a resolution……..bad logic maybe but my own :) .... read more...

Hi Everyone…….My name is Grace and well, here I am, this is my first post and I am really looking forward to seeing where this blog is in a few months……or dare I say years! I am a stay at home mom that works a bit from home doing bits and pieces to help with our family income along with that I watch a couple kiddos in addition to my little one 3 days a week.  This can and does make life challenging! Today we are on our own and my youngest who is 3 and I are hanging out, I am currently trying to teach her the art of cleaning up after herself! Needless to say it is a 1 step forward two steps back kind of process. Today she is sitting in front of the TVT (translate that as the TV) surrounded by 20-30 of her stuffed toys of various sizes…….ugh! I have gently mentioned that as she has brought all these toys out to the family room that later when she is done she will have to take them all back to the playroom! Assuring me that she will when she is done…..but I know from experience this won’t happen without tears later……and I of course will help her AGAIN pick up her toys explaining all the while that if she doesn’t bring them all out here there wouldn’t be such a mess to clean up! I know teaching little ones is all about repetition but can anyone tell me how to keep smiling and happy while repeating myself over and over everyday!! sigh…... read more...
