I arrived to my dad’s a little after 7pm last night after making a stop for something to eat…..PCC, love that, Veggie wrap and Ginger beer…..and ready to press on to dad’s.  In spite of my trepidation at spending the evening with my sometimes quite grumpy father we had a nice evening…..he gave me ALL kinds of instructions and dos and don’ts around the house as is his custom….sigh….but I lived through it :P and when he went up to have a shower and go to bed I went for a run….as I was a bit keyed up from the day!... read more...

Well today is the day I head over to my dad’s, my sister is arriving from Florida as well later in the evening.  My dad’s surgery is scheduled for 8:00AM on Monday, at least that’s when we have to get there!  I have been keeping a low profile and letting my older sister talk to my dad for the most part.  Partly because he is stressed out with the anticipation of surgery and partly because I just don’t want to get into it with him. OK, so I have told you about being a Mentor Mom with YoungLives (part of YoungLife) well I guess at this point in the process I have reached frustration!  A couple of weeks ago, I guess three now, I picked her up and she and I and our little ones went to coffee and had a good visit.  She was excited to be going on a Ladies retreat at church with her Grandma and her boyfriend and her brother had just gotten baptized and I thought this is great!... read more...

Besides doing the greenhouse this year my hubby has made a new plan for the big garden spot we have this year.  He brought in some soil and made big raised rows with it and put up more pipe for beans and such to grow up.  Well I am a bit administrative (no surprise there for those who know me!!) and I suggested that he get wood etc and make proper raised beds as the dirt mounds wouldn’t last through the growing season and if we boxed it in it would be easier for future blah, blah, blah!... read more...

Some friends of ours just had a new baby boy, soooooooooooooooooo cute! I just love how newborns smell and the way they move their little mouths, I could sit and watch them all day!  Do we as women ever lose the urge to have more babies?  I have three of my own and am too old really to have more…..but I would love to have another! Is that weird? All around I see women who are just beginning to show and they just look radiant and glowing, being in MOPS I see pregnant women all the time, it is just lovely to see the joy and happiness when they share they are pregnant or a new baby is born and the new mom gets to introduce their new family member to the group!  It seems at a given time I seem to know at least 4 or 5 women who are pregnant or trying.... read more...
