Exercise……making time to stay healthy

One thing that is important to me as a mom, wife and woman is just trying to take care of myself.  I am thankful that as a teenager I was active in sports and continued to be all through school, it has really helped me to stay active (although I admit there are times I just want to pack it in:) ).  It’s important because as I grow older it helps me to continue to feel good about myself. On the inside I still feel 18 although I am far past that!! ha!  I have a little one who is just 3 and I want to be able to keep up with her and enjoy every moment she takes me through and I also have an almost 20 year old who someday will be having babies of her own so I feel compelled to be a cool grandma and keep up with the grandchildren I hope to have someday!!  It’s good for our kids to see us active, then they want to be active too.

I also want to feel good about myself for my husband, I think when we feel good about ourselves our married life is better.  When we feel attractive we want to be close to our husbands and they like that no end! They are all about sex and if we feel like crap face it, it just ain’t happening.

I try to make walking a part of every day, it is just in my schedule.  At first I was walking with d2, I got a baby jogger and it works a treat.  Then I started a day care of sorts looking after two little guys three days a week and I had to shift my schedule a bit but I still kept walking.  Since then we have gotten a dog, she is about 2 and at close to 70 pounds needs to exercise so since winter hit she and I have made it a habit to walk everyday.  So, even as life changes and your schedule shifts you can make it happen.

It’s all about deciding to just do it.  I know we are all busy, but don’t let busy life do your health in.  Besides, taking a walk can clear your head and re-energize you for the day or evening ahead.
