Grace asked me to do a guest post today and I started off frivolously until I got a call from my sister across the pond.
Her daughter has been in and out of hospital for the last 9 weeks, with loss of strength in her legs, visual disturbance and inability to urinate. They had no idea what it was until my sister did some research and the consultant suggested the same thing Devic’s Disease. We cruise through life blissfully unaware of these things until it strikes someone close to us.
She is 10 years old and has been writhing in pain from this as attacks happen every 7-10 days or so. It’s very rare and even more so in children.
They are doing some tests to determine the existence of the disease in the coming days but the symptoms all fit.
So there you have it. No frivolous fun post, just sadness on a Friday afternoon and prayers for a little girl, 5,000 miles away.
Thanks for your prayers!
