One of the very special things about being a mom is watching your children interact with family and friends and other little kids. When our youngest was barely talking if we were out and about and she saw another child she was like, look there is my best friend (even though she had never seen them before!!)
We just met my sister’s son-in-law this past weekend and while our daughter was a little shy at first she soon warmed up. We spent the day on Saturday in Seattle taking in various places of interest and by midday she was holding his hand pretty exclusively! Very sweet! He thought is was just great, being a daddy too and missing his own kids she was a good stand-in.
We had just gotten in the car at the end of a long but wonderful day and she said that he was her new very best friend. I told her to be sure and tell him that when we got home as we were driving in separate cars……
With the news of being her new very best friend he shared a special handshake with her and she just beamed and felt very important and loved!

It really is true that it is the little things in life that are sometimes the most memorable. I hope we have the opportunity as a family to see my niece and her husband very soon and meet their family. They have twins that are 20 months old and we have yet to be in the same place at the same time! I look forward to that time and my daughter meeting the twins who I am sure will become her new very best friends as well.
Looking forward to hearing about your special moments with your kids!
Smiles,
Grace
