OK, I just wanted to give you an update on my dad. He is now 6 weeks 1 day out from surgery. He has been home from the rehab since April 23rd and home by himself since April 30th. He had his follow up appointment with the surgeon last Wednesday, only 5 weeks 2 days out from surgery and he had arranged for a friend to drive him to the appointment.
He walked into the doctor’s office using his walker. They did some X-rays and checked him over and then released him from all the precautions he had in place. He walked out of the doctor’s office carrying his walker and since they drove his car, he got in the car and drove himself home! He was so excited he called all of us girls to tell us that he got the “All Clear” from the doctor. (This is huge as my dad never calls us, we always have to call him!)
Of course the doctor did tell him to be sensible…..so we will see! 
I am now wondering just how long it will be before he tries to head back out to the golf course.
It has been an interesting journey going through this with my dad for myself as well as my sisters, very emotional and somewhat draining. However, we are all very happy he has improved his situation and can remain independent as this is his desire. He is thrilled at having no pain in his hips or back and that is just huge as he has had that for such a long time. He has also talked about possibly moving but I guess we will just have to wait and see on that.
Thank you all for all your prayers for my dad and my family during this time. I am happy to be back home and getting into my normal routine again.
